Kickstarter Project Launch - 2014 Calendars

EXCITING NEWS!!!!!

I applied to start a Kickstarter Project a few days ago, and it has been approved and ready for backing.

Now don't panic, if you are unfamiliar with Kickstarter, have a look here and take a peek at what it is all about. Alternatively, have a read below:

So in a nutshell...

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

The basic principle of kickstarter, is that you pledge an amount to back me in my project.

Lets say for example you wanted to offer £10 of your own money, to help me produce a range of 2014 Calendars....

What do you get out of it??

Well, that depends, as there are various lovely rewards for helping me (see my project page for more details).

A sample of the A4 wall calendar - Pledge £7 to receive one of these.
Here is an example:
For £10, you would be rewarded with a Desktop Calendar download, perfect for using as a background, or printing out and hanging on your wall, and an A3 Family Planner, which will be printed and delivered to your door
 by September 2013.

So you win too.

A2 double-sided Wall Planner - Pledge £5 to receive one of these

The idea is,  you help me, and you shall be rewarded

Now, here is the catch... I have a specific amount in mind to produce these calendars.... £750 to be exact, and if I don't raise all the funds by the deadline (1st August, Midnight), then I don't receive ANY of the money, and my dreams of releasing a range of 2014 calendars will go POOF!

Samples of Slimline Wall Calendar - Pledge £7 to receive one of these
So no pressure to help me.....

On the plus side, if you do kindly pledge an amount
(even £1 is awesome btw), you don't pay a thing, until after the deadline, when (if successful) you will receive an invoice with 2 week to pay up. Then I get paid... and BAM!!!

We have some fabulous Calendars.

Sample of Family Planner with space for 5 people + additional section for Birthdays and Appts.
Pledge £10 to receive one of these

So What do you say, Fancy helping a girl out???

and if you can't help... Please do spread the word.

Another Excuse......

Whoopsie... haven't blogged in weeks.

Can I still blame morning sickness-that-lasts-all-day?

Good, Alright. So I haven't been blogging, but I have been working. I've had a few little features, so don't forget to check out the 'my features' tab along the right hand side, I've entered a competition or two, and created a few new collections for my agent ( they are top secret though, Sorry!).

I Submitted 2 designs for this quarters MOYO Magazine. The theme was 'conversational prints'.

Not sure if they will be selected but I like them anyway.

I Also submitted these for the MOYO Competition that was based around the theme of Architecture.

I went with the idea of subway's and the patterned tiles that are usually adorned along the walls.

Did I get it right?

I LOVED this months Tigerprint competition, with a shiny new website, it was great to create a mood-board as part of the brief. The theme was Colour, and I am loving Pastels at the moment.

NO Top 10 this Month, but never-mind.

Finally, I entered the Wallpapered.com competition in conjunction with The Ideal Home Show

My design wasn't selected as a top 5 entry, but again, never-mind, its all a learning curve, and I am building on that ever expanding portfolio.

Promise to Blog more :-)

BLOG HOP- Welcome

Well, Hello there....

You are probably joining me from the fabulous blog of Mary Tanana, also known as Groovity Designs. I love Mary's designs, they are so bright, bold and vivid. What a fabulous collection she created.

Before I talk a little bit about myself, I'd just like to thank Rosie of Believe Creative Studio for curating this fantastic event, and also to MajoBV for designing the fabulous Flyer.

Okay, time for me to shine.

My collection was inspired by the theme of 'flight', and influenced by Pantone's 2013 colour 'emerald'. I also needed to create a collection of Valentines designs to be sent to the printers in time for the big day (14th February in the UK).

Lets kill 2 birds with one stone, I thought.
(Pun Intended)

The Brief said 3 designs to create a mini collection. But I'll be honest, I struggled to reign myself in and stop. So here we have 4, one with several colour variations.

Naughty me.

So, What will I be doing with these designs? Seems a shame to just leave them sat in a file on my computer, don't you agree?

The colours are very on trend, and the theme is currently relevant, given its valentines day soon.

But I also think they could be used for many 'female' occasions...

Mothers Day, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Well Wishes etc.

So this is what I came up with:

Blank Notebooks

 Cards and GiftTags:

These are now available to buy in my Etsy store, and I shall be expanding the range to Keyrings, cushions, coasters, fridge magnets in the very near future.

Anyway, I've shared enough eye candy with you for now. Time to pass you forward to the brilliant Cara Holland of Pattern Booth

Enjoy the rest of the Bloghop, and please please do follow right through until the end, it's really worth the time and effort. There's too much talent amongst this bunch to miss even one blog.

NOTE: This blog runs until Sunday Midnight.

Seasons Greetings - a Post Christmas blog

Did we all have a Merry Christmas?

I'm glad to hear it.

So did I.......

And so did the Children......

We left Santa a mug of warm milk and a chocolate cake, because the kids reckoned he would have had enough mince pies by the time he reached our house.....

My LOVE of all things Tea related is well documented amongst my family and friends, so naturally I received Hot Beverage related items from Santa.

My Bestie in the whole wide world, re-upholstered a Chair in my 'Hand drawn Flowers' fabric. it now sits pride of place beside my desk. Too lovely to actually use.....

I just wish the Kitten would leave it alone.....

And my amazing Husband has this waiting for me under the Tree. My very own Rachael Taylor iPad2 case.

Just Yummy isn't it?

I had a little bit of spare time to create myself a 2013 Diary amongst all the chaos of Christmas. I used the 'hand drawn flowers' swatch I had ordered from Spoonflower a while back. I used a basic £1 diary and gave it a nice new coat.............

 PERFECT!

And finally, Christmas is all about the family. And I got to spend some time with my Husband, Sister and Brother-in-law at a chinese buffet a couple of towns over. Me and Wayne rarely get the opportunity to have our photo's taken together, so I am happy to have forced my sister into taking one.

Me and my eldest daughter Carla, and with her cousin Harvey

After all that celebrating and enjoying time with Family and Special Friends. Im quite glad that I can now spend time concentrating on making my 2013 a memorable one.

Advent Doodle - Week 2

Here are our updated 'Advent Doodles'. We have added another weeks worth of drawings, and I must confess I actually banned the children from adding to them once or twice for misbehaving.... kids were NOT best pleased.

Find out more about the Advent Doodle HERE by the lovely Faye Brown.

And we featured on her blog last week, read about that HERE.

Lets share my attempt's first....

So my Elf looks a little insane and I cheated on the 'Three OF Kings', but I gave Rudolf a red nose. So I made up for it.....

Carla - Age 8......

Copied my evil elf idea, and bah humbug'd on the Christmas Carol section. She doesn't like her 3 wise men, because she wishes she drew a 3 of kings (as if it actually exists)....

Alexander - Age 5......

My little pattern finder did a good job here. Said he didn't know 'how to draw the christmas spirit' so drew a stocking instead. And decided Rudolph needed lots of planets around him..... as did Santa's elf.

Oh.. and his 3 wise men are now Aliens....

Come back next week for the final 8 doodles.

Until next time.
